Simon Wetzel - Pourquoi El torero?

Simon Wetzel l'Hollandais est l'un des joueurs le plus connus sur la planète FootGolf, on le surnomme El Torero, mais sait-on pourquoi?

Simon Wetzel the Dutchman is one of the most famous players on the planet FootGolf, is nicknamed El Torero, but do we know why?

Simon Wetzel : "I have a strange putting technique. When i played in Miami in America, the Argentina players said that when i was putting i look like an El Torero(Bull fighter. Then Arturo Barragan promoted me as the El torero of footgolf."

Arturo Baragan : " Yes, I did name my good friend and fellow FootGolfer, Simon Wetzel a.k.a 'El Torero!' The name came to mind before I met Mr. Wetzel; I was getting ready to attend the US Pro-am tournaments in Florida (Melresse GC & Port St.Lucie - PGA Village). I had seen video of Mr. Wetzel Putting with a unique style, like a ' Torero' (bull fighter when he sticks the bull for the finally). I was fortunate enough to play two consecutive rounds with Mr Wetzel. Once we met and hung out On & Off the course, mutual respect was apparent. We met at our place after tournament, had some beers/drinks, exchanged shirts, ball markers, flags, bags, etc. There, the name 'El Torero' came to life."

Simon Wetzel : "J'ai une technique particulière au putting. Quand j'ai joué à Miami en Amérique, les joueurs Argentins m'ont dit que je me positionné comme un torero ! Puis l'Américain Arturo Barragan m'a surnommé comme ça : El Torero du FootGolf."

Arturo Barragan : "Oui, j'ai surnommé mon bon ami et collègue FootGolfeur, Simon Wetzel alias 'El Torero! Ce nom m'est venu à l'esprit avant même de rencontrer M. Wetzel. Je me préparais pour un tournoi de l'US Pro-am en Floride (Melreese GC & Port St.Lucie - PGA Village)

Je l'avais vu putter en vidéo avec son style unique, comme un "Torero". J'ai eu la chance de jouer deux tours consécutifs avec Simon. Une fois que nous nous sommes rencontré et entraîné ensemble le respect mutuel était évident. Et puis après le tournoi, quelques bières / boissons, on a échangé nos polos, les marqueurs de balle, drapeaux, sacs, etc. C'est là que le nom de «El Torero» s'est gravé à vie."
